A blend of 78% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 La Vieille Cure evokes aromas of smoke, oak and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and robust palate framed by structured tannins that assert themselves on the dense, somber finish.

Juicy cherries, mulberries, leather, and gravelly earth notes all emerge from the 2022 Château La Vieille Croix, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, charming Fronsac with building tannins and solid length on the finish. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon from the clay and limestone plateau in Fronsac, drink bottles over the coming 8-10 years.
The 2022 La Vieille Cure still does not really convince on the nose; it's just missing some brightness and vigor. The palate is medium-bodied with a mocha- and caramel-tinged opening, perhaps evincing some fruit picked too late. The jury is out on this Fronsac.
