The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a slightly smudged bouquet that perhaps does not quite deliver the precision of the equivalent village crus from Nuits Saint Georges. The 30% new oak is neatly integrated, however. The palate is well balanced with sappy black fruit, quite grippy in the mouth with a solid, substantial finish that just needs to muster a little more finesse. Not bad, but I would drink this over the next 3-4 years.

(50% vendange entier ): Bright, dark red. Liqueur-like red cherry and raspberry aromas are complicated by spicy oak. Thick and supple in the mouth, offering compelling sweetness to its cherry and spicy oak flavors. Best today on the resounding, ripely tannic finish. This wine, which Pascal Marchand says may have finished with two grams per liter of residual sugar, should offer considerable early appeal.
