Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2025-2029, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Mar 2025

The 2022 Blanc from Puygueraud, a classic at this address, has turned out well since the en primeur tasting. Showing a fresh, vibrant bouquet of verbena, lemon and flowers, it's moderately weighted and juicy, with a fresh, energetic mid-palate and a clean, mouthwatering finish. This is a blend of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Sauvignon Gris.

Slightly reductive, the 2022 Château Puygueraud Blanc opens up nicely with air and has tons of juicy citrus, grapefruit, and spicy, minty notes as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It's a racy, vibrant white that will age for a solid 10-15 years or more if well stored.

The 2022 Puygueraud Blanc has a fresh nose with touches of Anjou pear, nectarine and grapefruit. The palate is well balanced with a touch of lemon rind on the entry, moderate complexity and a slightly short finish. Early drinking.

A blend of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Sauvignon Gris, the 2022 Puygueraud Blanc scoots out with ready-to-go, vibrant notions of Granny Smith apples, grapefruit oil, and lime blossoms, plus hints of wet slate and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate has fantastic tension supporting the intense citrus flavors, finishing long and steely. The soil here in the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux is limestone-clay on clay and harvest began early, on the 24th of August, to preserve that freshness this cooler soil wants to give.
