Looking at the 2022 Château Ferran, this is based on 81% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot, and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon that will spend a year in 30% new oak. It has a solid ruby/plum hue as well as some meaty, spicy aromatics of red and black currants, melted chocolate, and leafy herbs. Medium-bodied and nicely fruited, with some firmer tannins, it shows the style of the vintage well and should be an enjoyable wine.

A blend of 81% Merlot, 12% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented with low added sulfites, the 2022 Ferran reveals aromas of blueberry, cassis, licorice, ripe dark berries and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and textural, it’s generous and rich with a long, penetrating finish.
Crunchy and fruity with blackberry, dark chocolate and some bark character. Medium body. Creamy texture. Balanced and attractive.
This is fully charged, with black cherry and bilberry fruit, fesh acidities, unforced and gourmet, with a trace of heat on the finish. 48hl/h yield, harvest from September 8 to 21, 30% new oak. Should be good value and is an enjoyable wine. 30% new oak.
