2022 Feytit Clinet
Opzioni di acquisto
Note di degustazione
Deep garnet in colour, the 2022 Ch. Feytit-Clinet offers up delicate aromas of coffee and blackcurrant that slowly reveal themselves. Rich and concentrated, blackberries and violets coat the palate with a remarkable density – giving the wine body and drive. Although the alcohol sits at 14.8%, you wouldn’t know it – seamlessly integrated, along with the tannins which gently melt away to leave a long and precise finish. The 2022 is the first vintage that Jeremy Chasseuil made with the help of his children (after snapping his Achilles tendon four days before harvest), and it’s fair to say that it’s a big success. Blend: 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc

One of the more powerful wines in the vintage, the 2022 Château Feytit Clinet brings an almost Petrus-like structure and density as well as a stunning nose of ripe red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy herbs, chocolate, tobacco, and truffles. With full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, nicely integrated smoky oak, and a blockbuster of a finish, this brilliant wine should be snatched up by savvy readers. It will ideally be given 4-6 years in the cellar, but you'll be excused for opening bottles now. It should cruise for two decades, if not longer. The 2022 is 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, from the Clinet, Latour, and Feytit lieux-dits, aged in 70% new barrels. It hit 14.5% alcohol with a solid pH of 3.75.
The 2022 Feytit-Clinet has a beautiful bouquet with blackcurrant, wild strawberry, cedar and black truffle scents emerging with time alongside a violet aroma. The palate is medium-bodied and harmonious with finely chiseled tannins, crisp acidity and just a simulacrum of black chocolate toward the finish. It needs time, but the energy emanating from this young Pomerol is palpable. This is exquisite.
I continue to absolutely love the wines from Jeremy Chasseuil’s tiny estate located in the heart of Pomerol. His 2022 Château Feytit-Clinet checks in as 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, pulled from 60% of the production, and it sports a dense purple hue to go with a decadent, powerful, full-bodied style in its darker currants, tobacco, chocolate, and graphite-driven aromas and flavors. The tannins are substantial yet ripe and integrated, and it has a great mid-palate and outstanding length.
