Juicy black cherries, chocolaty herbs, graphite, and truffle notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Chantalouette, a nicely textured, medium-bodied Pomerol that has fine tannins, juicy acidity, and a great finish. There are ample tannins here, so give it a year or three and enjoy over the following decade.

The 2022 Chantalouette comes across as just a little Bretty on the nose, missing the freshness of some of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied, with bitter black fruit tones, touches of black pepper and a slight attenuation at the finish. It's so-so.
Olives, sweet berries, plums and spiced berries. This is lightly chewy on the palate with generous, plummy fruit on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Tight and juicy in the medium-long finish. 72% merlot, 15% cabernet franc and 13% cabernet sauvignon. Drink after 2027.
High Cabernet Sauvignon for a Pomerol, at 13% of the blend, medium intensity deep cherry red in colour. Soft waves of white pepper and baking spice, wth crushed raspberry fruit, attractive and gentle, a little underpowered on the finish. Harvest September 7 to 21. This is the 2nd wine of Château de Sales, from a big vineyard of 47.5ha.
