Note di degustazione
Peymouton is made from the younger vines on clay soils at Ch. Laroque – the largest estate in Saint-Emilion. Although sold via Jean-Pierre Moueix, the wine is made by the talented David Suire (as with Laroque). Deep in colour, the nose is vibrant with a touch of sweet oak. There’s a chalky texture, framing the fruit with savoury tannins that create tension with a pleasing bitterness on the finish.

Aromas of sweet plums, cherries and sweet fruit compote introduce the 2022 Peymouton, a medium-bodied, soft and sun-kissed wine with an open palate and a relatively ephemeral finish. I suspect it will be at its best in the near term.
Based on 89% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc (with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon), the 2022 Château Peymouton reveals a healthy ruby/plum hue as well as juicy aromatics of redcurrants, black cherries, leafy tobacco, and earth. It's medium-bodied, round, lush, and as charming and delicious as I've ever tasted from this address.
Smoked earth undertones to the opening here, there is plenty of muscle to the tannic structure, with spiced black pepper and dried herbs, a little rustic, if full of character. Harvest september 19 to October 5. Beaumartin family, located in St Christophe de Bardes, 31ha.
