The 2021 Taillefer has a well-defined bouquet, lacking some vigor, but there’s attractive, truffle-tinged black fruit that emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannins and misses some substance on the mid-palate, but there is at least freshness and sapidity on the finish.

In bottle this shows the same characteristics as En Primeur - good quality, softly spoken, raspberry, plum and redcurrant fruits, with tobacco and sage, well balanced, easy to approach, short on the finish. Enjoyable medium term drinking from 5th generation owner and winemaker Claire Moueix.
The 2021 Taillefer has a fragrant, floral bouquet of brambly red fruit infused with iris petal; touches of tobacco emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine acidity, though the finish is just a bit hard at the moment. Give it 3–4 years in bottle.
Offering up aromas of minty blackberries, licorice, loamy soil and rose petals, the 2021 Taillefer is a medium to full-bodied, lively Pomerol built around powdery tannins that assert themselves with gentle grip on the finish.
