Production of the 2019 Chapelle de Potensac is down by half, as vineyards deemed to have been planted on unsuitable sites have been ripped up. The result of this draconian selection of the raw materials is a step up in quality. Notes of cherries, sweet berries and forest floor preface a medium to full-bodied, ample and vibrant palate framed by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the gently grippy finish.

The 2019 Chapelle de Potensac has a light but agreeable cherryade and crushed strawberry nose, nicely defined and straightforward. The palate is ripe on the entry with slightly chewy tannins, but I find this a little short in the scheme of things, leaving me wanting more.
Rose stems, knitted-down tannins that are not giving too much away, opening up to raspberry and redcurrant fruits. Short on the finish but this is attractive and unfussy. 4% new oak.
