Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Neal Martin, Feb 2023

The 2019 La Tour Carnet has a nicely composed bouquet with blackberry, raspberry coulis, cedar and subtle sous-bois scents, quite precise and focused. The palate is very well balanced with finely sculpted tannins, well-judged acidity and a harmonious, classically-styled finish. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

About to become a 200-hectare property because they’ve bought Caronne Ste-Gemme! Tasted blind. Sweeter than most on the nose – Merlot? And sweet on the palate with fine tannins underneath. Not the most concentrated but it’s certainly a charmer. Just a little green and weak on the end. (JR)

The 2019 Château La Tour Carnet is terrific, with a pure, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated style as well as impressive cassis, tobacco, spicy wood, and graphite aromas and flavors. The purity here is spot on, and it has ripe, polished tannins, outstanding balance, and a great finish.

Offering up aromas of rich cassis and blackberry fruit mingled with burning embers, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, the 2019 La Tour Carnet is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a broad attack that segues into an ample core of fruit that's framed by ripe, powdery tannins and lively acids. This is a seamless, rather giving Médoc that has turned out very well.
