The 2021 Mangot has a high-toned nose with blackberry and blueberry fruit, though it comes across a little smudged. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins and dark berry fruit mixed with brown spices, but the wood tannins dictate and dry the finish.

The 2021 Mangot is a dense, burly wine. Dark-fleshed fruit, herbs, menthol, licorice, spice, tobacco and incense build nicely in the glass. Angular contours are hard to fully get past, yet the 2021 is nicely done.
Offering up attractive aromas of red cherries, raspberries and mulberries mingled with licorice and petals, the 2021 Château Mangot is medium-bodied, fleshy and precise, with a pretty core of fruit, integrated acids and fine, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the gently chalky finish.
On the slim and savoury side in bottle, fennel and rasperry and blueberry fruits, austere but with sculpted tannins and architecture. Enjoyable stuff from brothers Karl and Yann Todeschini. An upscore.
