Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Neal Martin, Feb 2022

The 2019 Clos La Gaffelière has a well-defined nose of blackberry, raspberry and cedar scents, touches of undergrowth coming through with time. The palate is fresh, vibrant and quite saline in the mouth, with a finely proportioned finish. This is great value.

The 2019 Clos La Gaffelière is very focused and pure on the nose with vivacious blackberry, Morello cherry and crushed iris. It needs a bit of encouragement but is worth the patience. The palate is medium-bodied with grain tannins. A more "masculine" and structured Saint-Émilion with a finely proportioned saline finish. Good potential.

The second wine of Château La Gaffelière, the 2019 Clos La Gaffeliere has soft, charming style that shows plenty of darker, almost blue fruits as well as notes of damp earth and leafy herbs, medium-bodied richness, light tannins, and solid length. It has plenty to love and is ideal for drinking over the coming 7-8 years.

The 2019 Clos La Gaffelière is a very pretty, nuanced wine laced with bright red cherry fruit, blood orange citrus, and floral overtones to match its mid-weight, easygoing personality. Clos La Gaffelière, the estate's second wine, emerges from the lower slopes of the property.
