Note di degustazione
The 2021 Tour de Pez is a powerful, rustic Saint-Estèphe. A blast of dark cherry, leather, scorched earth, licorice and dried herbs hits the palate. The 2021 offers good depth and persistence, although it remains rather burly in feel.

In bottle this remains an unfussy wine with some attractive cocoa and vanilla notes that speaks of oak ageing, sweet berry fruit that loses some steam through the mid palate. There is careful winemaking on show here, with tannic grip, but impacted by the vintage.
Enticing layers of autumanal fruit aromatics, and a sweet hit of black cherry coulis on the attack. This has been carefully worked, with body through the mid palate, and grip. The tannins have bite on the finish.
Gorgeous fragrant nose, perfumed black cherries and touches of strawberry leaf. Ripe and fleshy but at the same time this has high acidity so you get the push-pull of lightness and freshness—linear and straight—with mineral-tinged tannins that coat the tongue and mouth. Not massively persistent but good presence in the mouth and a salinity on the finish. One for earlier drinking.
