Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2024-2030, Neal Martin, Feb 2023

The 2019 Haut-Bergey has a perfumed, pastille-like, almost Burgundian bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, smooth and yet lacking some complexity and nuance on the slightly muddy finish. Early-drinking. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Tasted blind. More intensity and depth on the nose than some of its peers. Sweet black-fruit flavours but no excess alcohol or oak. Should age well! Real interest here. (JR)

A total charmer, the 2019 Château Haut-Bergey offers a deep ruby/plum color as well as spicy, cedary, sappy herb-driven aromatics. With lots of currant and mulberry fruit, medium body, ripe yet firmer tannins, good balance, and a solid finish, it's another quality wine from this château.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2021-2029, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2022

The 2019 Haut Bergey offers up a rich bouquet of earthy blackberry fruit, burning embers and red berry compote. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and generous, with powdery tannins and succulent acids, it's round and giving, with a slight fragility to its flavors that makes me think it will be at its best in the near term.

Haut Bergey

Since Paul Garcin took over running this estate in 2014, it has become one of Pessac-Léognan’s most exciting addresses. Biodynamic and with a minimalist approach, Ch. Haut-Bergey makes pure and expressive wines that offer both great value and a taste of the modern Bordeaux.
