Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Deepest crimson. Marked note of cloves. Dry and quite hard on the palate, without much fruit flavour. Tannins are big but smoothed. Not very generous and a bit dry on the finish. (JH)

The 2020 La Tour Figeac has a forward bouquet with raspberry and strawberry fruit and a touch of vanilla emanating from the oak, ending with a hint of licorice. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, fine depth and ample acidity, quite powerful and generous with a plush, toasty finish. It requires patience, but I suspect it will be worth it based on this showing. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
A strong effort that features 40% Cabernet France, the 2020 La Tour Figeac derives from vineyards bordering Figeac where the latter's vein of clay soils peters out. Offering up aromas of dark berries, orange rind, peonies and vine smoke, it's medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins and a sapid, succulent core of fruit. It will appeal to readers who gravitate toward Cabernet Franc.
