2019 Nuits St Georges Murgers

Full bottle 1,680 g. NHB. Dark purplish crimson. Oaky fragrance with an undertow of ferns and moss. Glamorous, glossy dark fruit, somewhere between blackcurrant and raspberries with a hint of black-skinned, golden-fleshed plum and a spearmint flash. Peppery. Bold, dry, Saville-Row-suit-seamed tannins running the long length of this very well-polished wine. It has the gleam of a red-leather Chesterfield in a walnut-panelled library, the scent of a fine cigar, the purr of the Rolls waiting outside in the rain… Sumptuous and luxuriant. (TC)
