Punteggio 92-95/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2013

Richer and more textured, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is an even split of Grenache Blanc and Clairette. Offering up thrilling notes of citrus oil, flowers, marzipan and brioche, it stays remarkably poised and fresh on the palate, with building richness and length. It too is superb stuff that will keep for years, yet also dish out plenty of pleasure in its youth. Most likely needing little introduction, these singular efforts are made by Emmanuel Reynaud from his tiny plot of pure sandy soils located near the center of the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation. Surrounded on all sides by forest (which is unique) and a cool terroir, harvest here goes very late and these wines never lack for power or richness. Importer: Martine’s Wines, Novato, CA; tel.
