Note di degustazione
The 2013 Château de Fargues has a light bouquet for this noble estate: airy yellow plum, orange blossom and adhesive scent bubbling up with time. The palate is well balanced with unctuous honeyed fruit and fine acidity. It has a light tangy finish with a smudge of Seville orange marmalade. Perhaps on this occasion, I was anticipating a little more?

Tasted blind. Unusual and spicy on the nose. Almost an aroma of biscuits with lemon oil. Big and rich and intensely sweet but fresh too. Still very primary and a lot more complexity to come. (JH)
Plentiful lemon aroma, perhaps to the exclusion of complexity on the nose. The palate has a honeyed, marmalade and floral note but the fruit speaks loudest from this mix. (RH)
Informazioni sul produttore

Owned by the Lur-Saluces family (which also previously owned Ch. d’Yquem) since 1472, Ch. de Fargues benefited from similar care and attention. The resulting wines are impressive and – unlike most in the region which are now offered en primeur – only released three years after the vintage.
