Note di degustazione
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière shakes off a little reduction to reveal slightly earthy red berry fruit laced with clove and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins and a fine line of acidity. Quite saline in the mouth, with a taut, linear finish. Good potential for one of the domaine's entry-level cuvées.

Revealing a deeper bouquet of cherries, sweet berry fruit, orange rind, peonies and toasty new oak, the 2018 Vosne-Romanée La Colombière is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with a rounded profile that's underpinned by succulent acids.
Just above Clos du Château on clay soil. 65- to 95-year-old vines. Remontage not pigeage. ‘Infusion not extraction’, says Louis-Michel Liger-Belair. Tank sample. Mid cherry red. Smells a little sweeter and riper than Vosne village wine but still so scented and open. Darker fruited, a touch more spice. Definitely more spicy and savoury on the palate, perhaps a touch more oak in evidence but there’s a stony finesse to the tannins. Dark and cool and utterly refined, so fresh and full of energy. Fabulously delicate finish. Scented to the end. (JH)
