2018 Miani Merlot

The 2018 Merlot is deep with its bouquet of crushed raspberry and plums offset by hints of sage, musky animal tones and crushed stone. This is silky and soothing with brisk acids and sweet inner spices, leaving a staining of dark red fruits and lavender tones while tapering off with a coating of sweet tannins. It leaves the palate classically dry with a tug of residual concentration and purple and blue inner floral tones. Enzo Pontoni decided not to produce any Cru Merlot from 2018, and so, all of that juice was used here.
