Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2025-2036, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Jul 2025

A warm but not excessively hot vintage, and these tannins are supple, open, still cradling the fruit. Expect notes of cumin, espresso, creamy blackberry and raspberry fruits, studded with orange peel, cumin and pumice stone minerality. Less opulent than 2015, this is tasting great, a wonderful moment to drink, 75% new oak. Director of winemaking Philippe Bascaules.

Coffee, blackcurrant, aggressive tannic fuzz with very linear acidity. The fruit impact is tight and gruff too. A very different beast to their fleshier 2021. (RH)

Robust and structured, yet subtle and complex in flavor, this is a grand wine from a historic Napa property. Dark-chocolate, espresso, dried black-cherry, baked-plum and graphite flavors. Quite textured with firm tannins that are just beginning to soften. Full body and excellent concentration leading to a lingering finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.

Enticing nose that is developing very well, just showing some earthy development to complement the brooding kirsch fruit. Feels very light on its feet on the palate, the tannins are chewy and just beginning to soften. Has excellent texture, and fine notes of cherry and spice. (AC)
