The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru already conveys a sense of completeness on the focused nose; black plum, sous-bois, hints of graphite and sea spray all lend complexity. The medium-bodied palate of sappy red berry fruit is quite spicy and lively. Touches of brown spice and clove lend more complexity to the very persistent finish. This is a superb offering from Grivot this year.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots offers up aromas of cassis, wild berries, plums and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate with juicy acids and chewy structuring tannins. It's only moderately concentrated and the finish is somewhat brief, but this should develop nicely with a few years' bottle age.
