Note di degustazione
Of the two Côte Rôties, the 2020 Côte Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron is clearly the more forward and charming, with a gorgeous nose of black raspberries, blueberries, spring flowers, and bacon fat all defining this deep purple-hued, medium to full-bodied 2020. All Syrah from a mix of terroirs, aged in new and once used barrels, it has the vintage’s ripe, voluptuous, sexy style yet has sound underlying tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. Drink this incredibly pleasurable Côte Rôtie over the coming decade or so.

Saturated ruby-red. Deeply pitched dark berry, cherry liqueur, licorice and woodsmoke scents show fine clarity and acquire oak spice and floral pastille qualities with air. Juicy and expansive on the palate, offering intense blackberry, cherry-vanilla, fruitcake and salty olive flavors that are sharpened by a jolt of spicy cracked pepper. Shows excellent depth and power; finishes smoky and very long, with youthfully gripping tannins sneaking in late.
