2021 Kaapzicht Chenin Blanc

The 2021 Chenin Blanc 1947 comes from bush vines planted in the aforementioned year, planted by Danie Jnr's great-grandfather, the original six hectares now withered to just a single hectare. It has a wonderful bouquet with beautiful honeysuckle, yellow plum and vanilla scents on the nose. The palate is very well balanced with a sensual creamy texture, lightly spiced with orange rind and white pepper, a touch of fennel towards the persistent finish. Wonderful but it would be even better if matured entirely in used oak.
