Delicate aromatics on the attack, this is a Champagne with a distinct personality, almond, green pepper, apple, fresh figs, citrus. Fine mousse that hides powerful depths with a mouthwatering bitter almond and salted cracker finish, you can drink this now but it has decades ahead of it. 10% vinified in oak barrels, 12 years on the lees, 3g/l dosage. The Pinot Noir comes from Mailly and Vertus and Chardonnay from Oger, Avize and Vertus in the Côte des Blancs, all Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards.
Quince and dried pear with baking spices, such as cinnamon. Full-bodied and very tight with intense phenolics that are very, very fine and long. Lasts for minutes. Lightly chewy finish. Needs time to come together completely. 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay. Disgorged in 2023. 3g dosage. First wine from here, sold on the place in Bordeaux. Drink or hold.
