Rouget's 2020 Bourgogne Rouge bursts with aromas of plums, sweet berries, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with tangy acids and fine length on the finish, it is shaping up nicely.

The 2020 Bourgogne Rouge was quite tricky to ascertain from barrel. Certainly the nose is promising with some seductive cassis scents, though the palate felt a little too Syrah-like for my preference, missing a little Pinoté (which was thrown into sharp relief by the ensuing Chorey-lès-Beaune).
