This sample seems in better condition than the one tasted at Montrachet Fine Wine Merchants: fresh dark fruit – riper-smelling than most in this vintage with some notes of dried fruits, but not extreme. A bit leathery in texture and just seems to lack the vibrant quality of the vintage. But there’s good fruit depth and well-managed tannins. (JH)
