From a mere 0.28 hectares, this is a seductive and regal Grand Cru in 2021. The aristocracy of this site shines through, with haunting perfume and sumptuous depths to the sweet fruit. It’s elegant yet rich, with nuanced, smoky tones and outstandingly fine tannins that add texture to the long and plush palate of this very fine Pinot Noir. A remarkable wine.

A gorgeously spicy nose includes notes of plum, dark pinot fruit, crushed leaf, violet, clove and plenty of exotic Asian-style tea. There is fine volume and richness to the attractively textured, even velvety, larger-scaled flavors that display excellent balance on the firm, moderately austere and built-to-age finale.
The 2021 Richebourg Grand Cru has a beautifully defined bouquet that is focused and vivacious, very complex, quite floral in style and actually like Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp and edgy, very saline with a persistent finish. This seems to unfold with each swirl of the glass, yet you can tell there is hidden depth to this Richebourg that time will reveal. This is pure class.
The 2021 Richebourg Grand Cru is terrific, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, orange zest, sweet spices, rose petals and licorice, followed by a full-bodied, rich and layered palate that's impressively muscular and multidimensional, built around ripe tannins and lively acids, and concluding with a long, expansive finish.
