Note di degustazione
Les Millandes sits below Clos de la Roche – and is always a favourite in the line-up at Heresztyn-Mazzini, whose vines here are at least 70 years old. It offers a sweet and intoxicating nose full of strawberry perfume – the ripest, plumpest strawberries from your summer crop. This sweetness is offset, however, by great freshness and firm, chalky tannic structure, while there’s a ferrous minerality that runs through the core of the wine, adding tension. The juicy fruit pops on the mid-palate, the finish long and mouth-watering.

50% whole-bunch in 2021. Cask sample. Mid crimson. Dark fruited and slightly floral/stemmy. Dry, almost chalky tannins – fine but compact. Even in its embryonic state, the refinement is clear. Pure Morey. Long, lithe, with great potential. (JH)
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Millandes 1er Cru is matured with 60% whole bunches. It has a complex nose, dark berry fruit, truffle and undergrowth scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins that frame the very peppery red fruit. I appreciate the finesse and elegance that comes through on the finish. Classy.
