Punteggio 90+/100 · Da bere 2027-2037, Neal Martin, Oct 2025

The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a little reduction on the nose, though there is satisfying brambly red fruit here, sous-bois and freshly picked rose aromas. Fine delineation. The palate feels just a little muddled at first with chewy tannins and red berry fruit laced with orange rind and a bit of capsicum. Solid and a bit unyielding on the finish, this is just missing finesse and charm. Given its showing from barrel, I suspect it might be just entering a dumb phase. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Punteggio 92-94/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from a single plot in the higher sector close to the wall that offered some protection from the frost. Composed and focused on the nose, this unfurls in the glass with quite mineral-rich dark berry fruit mixed with peony and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. Harmonious and quite poised, not a powerful Clos de Vougeot yet full of energy and tension. This is beautifully crafted.

Punteggio 91-93/100 · William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

Offering up aromas of dark berries, cassis, burning embers, spices and licorice, the 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, rich, layered and textural, with powdery tannins and an unusually muscular, broad-shouldered profile for the vintage.
