Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2023-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2024

The 2021 Alto de Cantenac Brown is a very pretty dry white. Lemon confit, pear, chamomile, spice and dried flowers are all laced together. The 2021 offers fine energy and depth, with a touch of new oak that wraps it all together while adding the textural richness that is such a house signature.

Good intensity, with a lick of saline minerality. The Sauvigon Blanc comes out as intense wet grass and citrus peel, and it widens out through the mid palate to give a creamy density to the fruit, and plenty of grip through the finish. Fermented and aged 90% in barrel with no new oak, 10% in stainless steel. First vintage of this wine was 2011, and it's been an impressive addition to the Bordeaux Blanc stable ever since. From 1.8ha of vines located in Margaux-Cantenac.

The 2021 Alto de Cantenac Brown is bright, punchy and full of character. Green apple, sage, mint, white flowers and dried herbs are beautifully delineated. Aging in barrel, with lees stirring, adds gorgeous texture to balance the natural energy and vibrancy of the year. This is such a beautifully balanced, harmonious white. I loved it.
