Note di degustazione
Vivid yellow. Intense, mineral-accented aromas of pear, nectarine and mace, with smoke and floral accents emerging with air. Broad, palate-staining pit and orchard fruit flavors are framed and lifted by bitter lemon pith and chalk notes. Finishes sappy, sweet and very long, with slow-building smokiness and impressive vivacity. This wine's blend of richness and verve bodes well for aging.

Stephane Robert has made four impressive whites from St.-Peray, including one of the greatest St.-Peray blancs I have ever tasted, the 2010 St.-Peray Pur Blanc. It boasts shocking amounts of mineral intensity as well as notes of honeysuckle, nectarine and tangerine oil. The huge, flowery, crushed rock-scented set of aromatics is amazing. This wine could have more minerality than any grand cru Chablis from Burgundy. I have no idea how this remarkable effort will age, but if you can find any, it is worth a special effort to purchase.
