The 2020 Yattarna Chardonnay is silky and refined in the mouth, littered with quiet restraint, salty acidity and very fine/chalky phenolics. It's a quiet iteration of this wine, which only serves to make the 2019 seem more rambunctious and lively by comparison. Both are gorgeous wines, and it will just depend on your personal Chardonnay proclivities. This vintage is gently textural and chewy through the finish, which I like. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
Reductive and tight with sliced apples and pears with crushed stone and apple skin. Itâs full-bodied with excellent length and focus. Phenolic at the end giving it structure. Needs time to come together in the bottle. Try after 2024. Screw cap.
Pale yellow. Sharply delineated aromas of ripe citrus and pit fruits, pear nectar and tarragon take on honeysuckle, vanilla, chamomile and smoky mineral notes as the wine opens up. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering deeply concentrated yet surprisingly lithe Anjou pear, white peach and tangerine flavors and hints of toasted nuts and saffron. Juicy and tightly focused on the strikingly long finish, which features resonating hazelnut, vanilla and citrus fruit notes.
