Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2027-2065, Neal Martin, Nov 2022

The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru, the deepest coloured of five tasted, has a flamboyant nose that you can easily lose yourself in: red berry fruit, sous-bois , crushed stone, pressed flowers and a light marine element. Such delineation and focus. The palate is balanced with real power. The fruit is lavish and quite exotic, silky smooth in texture with enormous backbone on the finish that fans out and lingers. Showy in style, but maybe it tries too hard and perhaps begins to oxidize in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.

Punteggio 94-96/100 · Da bere 2023-2045, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru was picked on September 7 and made with 50% whole bunch and 40% new oak. It has a very pure, generous bouquet with layers of red cherries, crushed strawberry and cranberry fruit and well-integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Very lithe and fresh, leading to a delineated finish that ranks alongside many others I have tasted. This is a superb Chambertin that will age with style.
