2020 Colli Orientali Sauvignon Salici

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Salici is finessed and delicate in style. It wafts up with hints of crushed stone giving way to citrus-tinged peach. This is silky-smooth and broad, almost glycerol, fleshing out across the palate with a dense wave of ripe orchard fruits and sweet spices. It takes a turn toward the savory spectrum, finishing lightly structured and with a buzzing of citrus intensity. This is a gorgeous Sauvignon that impresses today, but its best years are yet to come. The Salici hails from sandier soils and 25-five-year-old vines from within the Ronco del Gnemiz vineyards. It matures in all-neutral barrels.
