The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru has a pure bouquet with raspberry, cranberry, Earl Grey and crushed stone scents. It's very harmonious and refined, so complex that it is difficult to drag your nose away. The palate is medium-bodied, with sappy red fruit commingling with graphite and white pepper. It is very structured, but there is equal elegance and refinement. It's persistent on the creamy-textured, late-picked finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

A ripe yet restrained and quite cool nose combines notes of black cherry, the sauvage, forest floor and discreet spice nuances. I verry much like the texture, as well as the underlying tension, of the imposing and well-detailed flavors that possess excellent precision on the dusty, compact, powerful and driving finale. This is also going to require extended patience as the supporting tannins are presently very firm without being hard. Good stuff with fine potential.
The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is very well-defined and focused on the nose, mineral-rich black fruit, sous-bois and cedar emerging with time, conveying a sense of effortlessness. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, an almost symmetrical balance with a poised, pixelated finish. This is an outstanding Chambertin that will age with style.
