There are 179 cases of Pahlmeyer's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pièce de Résistance, an all-Cabernet Sauvignon selection from the Bettinelli-farmed Upper Range Vineyard. Aged in only new French oak—and from only four-year-old vines—this is dark and plummy, mingled with black cherries and earth, plus hints of cedar and vanilla. Full-bodied and richly concentrated, it's a big, powerful wine yet also mouthwatering and elegant, with cocoa and coffee accents on the lingering, gently tannic finish.

This is big and rich wine with lots of blackberry, leather and crushed stone. Full-bodied and warm going down. For those who love old-style Napa, yet tried and true to the terroir. Alcohol is sticking out a bit. A selection of barrels from one vineyard in Napa. 150 cases made. Drink or hold.
