The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin En Champs is quite dense and backward on the nose with incense and lavender-tinged dark cherry fruit; it's precocious and a little heady. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, gentle grip, crisp red fruit and perhaps just missing a little persistence on the finish. Otherwise, this is a very capable Gevrey.
