Note di degustazione
This is the first year that Alvina Pernot’s Bourgogne Chardonnay bears its new name, La Rue de Bois. All the fruit comes from vines from around their new winery (finished in time for the 2021 vintage). Although volumes in general for 2021 were very low, they managed to make a normal amount of this cuvée, with three barrels. It’s a lovely bright Bourgogne – with zesty verve, purity and a chalky line. Citrus and crunchy white-fleshed fruit is complemented by minerality and limey acidity. Brilliant value – especially this year.

The 2021 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Rue de Bois, now with the name of the lieu-dit, has a fragrant, apple blossom and Williams pear scented nose that gradually unfurls. The palate is quite sharp on the entry, a very malic offering here with a touch of crustacea on the finish. Fine.
