Note di degustazione
Vivid red. Pungent, smoky aromas of blackberry, cherry-cola and licorice, with cracked pepper and anise notes adding complexity. Sappy, penetrating dark berry flavors show very good density, picking up bitter cherry and spicecake qualities with air. Gentle acidity gives the wine good spine. This ripe, lively pinot finishes with impressive punch and spicy persistence.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Momtazi Vineyard was made with 50% whole clusters. Quite herbal aromatically, on the palate this note is fairly well integrated but still draws attention. There is enough structure for the wine to evolve for 2-3 years so it will be interesting to see how this wine comes together. Kelly Fox’s daytime job is winemaker at Scott Paul (reviewed later in this report). Her most impressive credential is her stint working with the late David Lett at The Eyrie Vineyard. Tel.
