Note di degustazione
An unoaked blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache and 10% Carignan, the 2019 Côtes du Roussillon Les Sorcières is a fruit-driven, medium-bodied effort, ideal for gulping down with one of this summer's grilled hamburgers. Cherry and stone fruit notes have just enough savory nuances—cracked pepper and dried herbs—to keep things interesting and food friendly, finishing dry and silky.

Ex-sommelier Hervé Bizeul's wine. The 2018 is the one featured in Yapp's list. This is his entry-level red: 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache Noir, 20% Carignan aged in cement and old barrels. Transparent crimson. Sweet, gamey nose with herbs, spice and Roussillon richness. Hervé's wines have really calmed down from his first few vintages and this somehow manages admirable freshness. A little bit of agreeable treacliness. Very impressive balance with a candied flower note. Very nice mix of geography (definitely Roussillon) and fashion (freshness). I don't think this will fall off a cliff but I'm not sure there is that much point in ageing it. (JR)
