The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a cohesive nose with wild strawberry comingling with blood orange, later touches of pressed rose petals. The palate is very well balanced with neatly integrated oak (40% new), fine salinity, fresh and lightly spiced towards its lingering finishing. Just pure, unadulterated Pinoté.

Aromas of cherries, cassis, loamy soil and spices preface the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, a medium-bodied, lively, precise and nicely concentrated wine that exemplifies the ideal of intensity without weight. It is well worth seeking out.
Bright cherry fruit, clean and forward on the nose, with hints of spice and a lilting feel on the palate enlivened by plenty of fresh acidity that carries it to a pleasantly balanced finish. This is blended from ten small parcels scattered throughout Gevrey and thus reflects the totality of the appellation. Bertrand and his sisters are continuing to work in the tradition of their father Claude: destemming the fruit, punching down during the fermentation and ageing the village wine in about one-third new casks.
