The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 4 Carac'terres is a blend of selected grapes from the domaine's four premiers crus, vinified without any destemming. Bursting with notes of orange rind, peonies, exotic spices and violets, framed by a deft touch of oak from its élevage in a new 300-liter barrel, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and concentrated, with a layered core, lively acids and powdery structuring tannins.

Made with 100% whole cluster and 100% new oak in a custome 300-liter barrel, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 4 Carac’terres 1er Cru is a blend of Magnien’s four Premier Crus. It has an intense floral bouquet of licorice-tinged red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, the oak nicely integrated and not too imposing. Slightly granular in texture on the finish with allspice on the aftertaste. This should age well.
