Note di degustazione
The 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté En Coulezain was harvested over two passes through the vineyard, was directly pressed with a small amount of skin contact and went through 12 months of élevage. There are 20m/g of free SO2. It has plenty of Aligoté character on the nose and is slightly oily in style, with hints of wax resin. Quite sharp in acidity, it's not as harmonious as the 2021. Light stem ginger notes with a twist of lemon rind appear towards the finish. It just needs a little more length, but this has held up well.

From vines approaching 30 years of age located in the commune of Volnay, one-third of the grapes that produced the 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté En Coulezain saw five days of skin contact after destemming, whereas the rest were basket pressed as whole bunches. The resulting wine has turned out brilliantly, mingling aromas of freshly baked bread with hints of pear, green apple, citrus oil and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, racy and textural, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a long, mouthwatering finish, it's one of the more exciting Aligoté bottlings I tried this year.
