A blend of 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 Château Plincette comes up short on elegance yet has attractive darker cherry and plum fruits as well as some spicy, herbal, earthy nuances. Nicely balanced and medium-bodied, with a rounded, textured style, it's best drunk over the coming 7-8 years or so.

The 2021 Plincette is less tertiary on the nose compared to its showing from barrel, with black cherries, boysenberry, vanilla and touches of violet. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet entry, quite candied in style, simple but with fine tannins interlaced on the finish. This is not a long-term Pomerol, though it is well-crafted.
The 2021 Plincette is a soft, easygoing Pomerol to drink now and over the next handful of years. It offers good depth, but is also a touch advanced, especially in its aromatics. Dried cherry, spice, worn-in leather, tobacco and herbs add to that impression.
The 2021 Plincette offers up aromas of cherries and berries followed by a medium-bodied, taut and slightly compact palate that may open up with some bottle age.
