2011 Halcon Syrah

(12.8 alcohol; made entirely with whole clusters): Vivid ruby. Highly aromatic scents of red and dark berry preserves, potpourri and smoky minerals, with a strong overlay of Asian spices. Sappy, penetrating and pure, offering intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied flowers. This racy, concentrated wine finishes with excellent clarity and silky tannins that fade into the fruit. (JR)
