Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2022-2030, Alistair Cooper MW, jancisrobinson.com, Feb 2020

75% new oak. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose offers plenty of graphite, cocoa nib and earthy notes with cassis and plums. A ripe palate with powdery and fine tannins and a ripe fruit-cake note. A lovely touch of minerality on the mid palate and a rounded ripe and full polished finish. (AC)

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is another outstanding wine. Plenty of blue fruits, violets, graphite, flowery incense, and spice notes emerge from this medium to full-bodied, pretty, elegant wine that has fine tannins and beautiful balance. More about finesse and elegance, it's going to evolve nicely for 15-20 years.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is plush, juicy and forward: all qualities that make it a good choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Raspberry jam, mocha, espresso, licorice and chocolate are enticing at the fore. I would prefer to drink the 2017 sooner rather than later - some of the heat stress of the growing season is evident in the wine's coarse tannins, which will only become more prominent over time.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with bold blackcurrant cordial, wild blueberries and black cherries notions plus hints of menthol, pencil shavings and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a lively line of freshness lifting the black fruit, supported by chewy tannins, finishing pleasantly earthy.
