Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Very pale. Rather like a wine tasted earlier (the Clarté de Haut-Brion). Quite Loire-like. Good acidity and a nice change for bordeaux but not worth a lot of money in an international context. A tad astringent. Overpriced! (JR)

As always, the 2021 Château Margaux Pavillon Blanc is all Sauvignon and is a brilliant wine displaying a mineral-drenched style in its crushed citrus, white flowers, spice, and minty herb nuances. Beautifully textured, medium-bodied, and as focused and chiseled as they come, yet also with beautiful concentration, it's a singular, riveting expression of Sauvignon that will have two decades of longevity.
The 2021 Pavillon Blanc seems to be less tropical than when I tasted it from barrel. Conference pear, just a hint of pineapple and red apples are joined by light beeswax scents. The palate is well-balanced with a very fine line of acidity, taut and fresh, just a prickle of stem ginger and bitter lemon emerging toward the finish with impressive persistence. This could be consumed now, but I'm not sure I would cellar it long-term like other recent vintages.
