2019 Rully Blanc Le Meix Cadot

The 2019 Rully Meix Cadot 1er Cru has a nose that positively leaps out of the glass like an over-excited toddler, delivering lime, orange pith and pink grapefruit scents suffused with energy. The palate is supremely well balanced with lip-smacking salinity from the get-go. Outstanding energy and tension, this is an absolutely knockout Rully that provides more evidence, if that was ever necessary, that Dureuil-Janthial sets the bar for others to follow.

The 2019 Rully 1er Cru Meix Cadot is beautiful, wafting from the glass with notes of yellow orchard fruit, peaches, toasted almonds, pastry cream and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegantly textural, with terrific cut and concentration, it concludes with a long, saline finish.

Edgy and savoury on the nose. Ambitious and with real texture as well as masses of acidity. Strong lemon-peel flavours. (JR)
