Leading off the 2016s and fresher and slightly more elegant than the 2015, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon TERES offers a complex perfume of flowery camphor, violets, and blue fruits as well as a medium to full-bodied, refined, seamless mouthfeel that just begs to be drunk. From 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 70% new French oak, it can be drunk today or cellared for 15-20 years. Assisted by winemaker Philippe Melka, this estate is gradually moving to all estate fruit. As I hope the notes show, this estate knocked it out of the park in 2016.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Téres is a gorgeous entry-level wine from Adamvs. Pliant, succulent and inviting, with no hard edges and terrific fruit presence, the 2016 has a lot to offer. Plum, blackberry jam, spice and menthol all run through this racy, succulent Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aged for 21 months in 55% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon TERES is deep garnet-black in color and opens with expressive notes of crème de cassis, mulberries, baked plums and spice cake with wafts of potpourri, eucalyptus and espresso. The palate is full-bodied and firm with ripe, grainy tannins and a lively line lifting the densely packed fruit, finishing on a minty note. 1,100 cases produced.
